changing (not removing) the windows 7 logon screen logo

Hi, i want to change the "windows 7 professional" logo at the bottom of the log on screen.

i know you can remove it but was wandering if there was a way to replace it with my own file.

    thanks

Hi Scott. There used to be a way to hack the file and remove the bitmap that contains the "Windows Seven Version" logo but MS stomped on it. This is a critical system file and you are best not fooling with it. There are plenty of ways to modify the log on screens such as here:

    Welcome to the Seven Forums

Have a look at this tutorial Log On Screen - Change or Remove Text Branding it shows the location and how to remove that text branding but also mentions you can edit the image to your liking.

Make sure you save the image as a .bmp (bitmap) there are six images in the bitmap folder of different sizes and different background colors (I think they are like that depending on what background color you are using and what resolution is) I have never tried it but my best guess would be you may have to edit all six images.
