My Gadgets corrupted, small box appears only

Ok, some weeks ago this problem occured. When I try to add a gadjet everything works perfect but the gadget is not shown properly, BUT my problem is different. See this picture of the gadget format:

Yes, I've seen if the feature is turned off, it's on and yes I've tried to restore the default dagets.

None of these worked, but it seems that this appeared after a Windows Update, so maybe you guys can help me?

    Thanos.

Ok, thanks for answering although on the first option of the tutorial it seems that the bat file tries to delete a registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones). So, Is it safe to delete this registry?

You give me the ok, and I will try it!

By the way, thanks for welcoming me, I am glad to be here too!

Yep, it's safe. That basically resets your IE security zone settings back to default.

If you have a 3rd party AV or firewall program installed, then be sure to also check to see if they may be blocking the gadgets as well. You may need to allow or add the gadgets to the program's exception list.

Ok, so I run the bat file but nothing changed, still the format of the gadgets are corrupted.

Basically, my problem is different because my gadgets are not even displayed wrong, but it's just a small box with a ">" usually. See the picture at the first post.

    Any ideas ?

Do you have a 3rd party AV or firewall program installed that may be blocking them?

You might also see if turning off, apply, restart PC, turn on, apply, restart PC for gadgets may help if they are just corrupted.

Nope at all, I have the Windows Firewall (lol) nothing else.

I checked if the gadgets feature was turned off, but If it was off they should even appear.

Turning them off and on like posted above would basically reset and repair gadgets to hopefully have them work again for you afterwards.

In that case, you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before you had this issue may help.

If not, then you could try a repair install.
