    Well I've had a look and it looks like its a image quality issue. Try using higher quality background images. Also the colours are so dark and close to each other that the text sort of blends to much into the background. Also you may find that you have gone a bit to far with the effect ... try smaller increments (distance, blend and amount from the target object)

    Thanks a mil for the advice!
    I'll definitely try to work more with colors and higher quality textures And maybe that some well placed highlights would contribute as well (like I tried with the lens flares). This sig was really just experimental to see if the effect worked, and it partially did, so in the actual one I'll tone down the effects to a bare minimum.
    Oh, the original background texture was about 3000x3000, not sure if that's low quality, but that could also be because I resized it to fit better.

    thanks nommy, not sure ive got the lighting right but i quite like it.
    there is a few little glitches with it but its still early days. :)
