    That's cool as a starting point :)

A hard border is something that will be there as a distinct object covering the main design and adding some extra effect on it ....

Ooh I see where it's going!
I can first create a selection using the rounded rectangle tool and then fill the selection up with either a nice color or a nice pattern.

Thank you Stefan its a lovely Sig

Yours are great, guys, much better than this one...

But the main objective was to try one without a rectangular background, and with some transparency in it.

Seems to have worked. Anyway, here you go, Steph... it's only a quickie, though. :)

    Wenda.
    Thank you Wenda

Well, I don't quite know what happened there. I did a sig last night, and posted it (or so I thought).

Logged on this morning - gone!

Anyway, sorry about that! Fixed now. See my previous post.

Wondered about that Wenda, you should resize and save the applicable size as a png to save transparency.

Hmmm, yes. My fault about the sig not posting last night, I was half-asleep at the time.

Now, regarding resizing/transparency, I checked the dimensions, which are 639mm x 147mm (for some reason, the size on the posted sig is shown in pixels) so I played around a bit with them, and did a test
post or two. Still transparency not working for me. File is saved as a *.png, as are all my sigs once I've
finished them (the original *.psd files are also saved, separately).

Another query is that my file sizes seem to be very large compared to some others. Not sure why this
would be, any ideas? I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I can't seem to spot it...

    Wenda.

EDIT: OK, I read back into the last part of this thread, and I've now worked out where I was going wrong with the sizing, I was using mm, not pixels. The files are now an acceptable size.

Thanks for jogging my memory, A Guy.

However, even at 300x150 pixels, and saved as a *.png file, I'm still not getting the transparency. The sig below is the same one as previously, but re-sized from 640x150mm. The white rectangular back-
ground isn't in the original but keeps appearing here.

As I said, I know I'm doing something wrong but can't seem to pick quite where...

Not a GFX guy, but the forum measurements are in pixels. 650x150. Not sure what equates to mm?
