Well guys my first attempt at a sig , i used my crest pooman made for me but i added a bit of depth to it and i used the font Arc made for me a while back, i played about with it .
the rest is my own work playing around a little more.

so there we go, im not sure it works too well on a small sig but looks ok in the large size...

any advice on how to get the best size and not distort the image.
what size canvas do you guys start with so it renders down well into the 650 x 150 size

    Lookin' Good

I think you'll find the most of the GFX'ers start with a 1300x300 canvas an then export the finish to 650x150. That's in pixels.

Well done ... we all know that you have some skills which you dont use

Make the sig proportionately larger, say 1300x300 pixels. Save in two formats, .psd and .png. Open the .png again, and resize it to 650x150. Otherwise there is a chance that the styles will also be resized.

Anyway, here's my work-in-progress for A Guy. I'll finish it once my speed resets and I can d/l the
brushes and some artwork that I need.

Probably won't look much like this once it's completed, knowing me...

    Very nice Wenda

That's a really nice sig Julian.

The reason for making the sig larger is that you can get more detail. Reducing the size by 50% loses some quality but not too much. That applies if you are using raster based graphics. If you are using vectors then you can resize as much as you like without losing any quality.
