thanks pebbly, those are gradients .
i mean more like this,
the trouble is that the letters on goldens sig are so thin then any gold effect just looks like one color so no reflections and no variety in the gold color effect.
i will persevere, im a determined bugger if nowt else
BooBah ........... Are you using Corel 6x? There is a preset in Fountain Fill for gold plate. If not try this R=214, G=157 and B=23
Try this tut; it's where your pic originated from.
About the font, duplicate the text layer with ctrl+j and notch it a few px to the left, then to the same to the right to make each letter a few pixels thicker (and merge all those layers afterwards). That usually does the trick for me.
You can adjust the tracking (space between the letters) by going to Window > Character, and then tracking is the weird symbol with VA on it and an arrow pointing left and right underneath that. That way the thicker letters don't look weird and packed together.
Change the tracking before merging the layers obviously, as it is not possible to use that feature on a rasterized layer.
Hope this helps:)
Nommy
thanks guys but you got the wrong end of the stick,
i was trying to get the embossed areas in the sig i was making colin, i was trying to get it highlit by gold leaf effects,
i kind of got it but not perfect,
if any of you want to try then use the sig i posted earlier...here
thanks for the tut nommy i saw that one a few times, hes really good at explaining, in fact i was reading a tutorial last night and the way it was written i was hearing that chaps voice as i read.
i think i will stop now and come back to it in a day or so as fresh eyes will see things differently , put about 11 hours into this one, as i tried tons of other ways different styles and even learned to make custom brushes along the way.
loving this stuff.
anyhow heres the effort so far.
