Delete one of two "Personalize" buttons

When I right-click on an open portion of the desktop, the dropdown menu that appears has two Personalize buttons. One takes me to the correct personalization window. The other doesn't. Clicking and right-clicking on that button brings up a window that says "Your Windows 7 edition is not supported." How do I delete this second Personalize button?

    Thanks.

That's an interesting one, did you install something that may have added that?

You didn't happen to install the program in option two of this tutorial did you?

Desktop Background Wallpaper - Change in Windows 7 Starter

I know it adds the personalize option to Starter and Home Basic versions.

We have a tutorial to remove personalize from the context menu, you can see if it removes both, the same tutorial shows how to add it back,

Personalize - Add or Remove from Desktop Context Menu

Yes, I must have added something, but I don't remember. I wonder if the extra Personalize button is the "winreview_personalization" entry. Can I just delete it? Thanks.

That is the program I was talking about, personalization panel.

I would create a restore point first,

    System Restore Point - Create

Do you see that program listed in the control panel?

Yes, it's listed in Control Panel.

Is Personalization Panel different from the "winreview_personalization" entry?

Sorry, I should have clarified Control Panel, Programs and Features.

The one you have outlined there should be there.

I was only asking if it was in programs and features to see if you could simply uninstall from there.

If it is, try uninstalling it, if not, set a restore point and go ahead and delete the one you outlined in this screenshot,

Personalization Panel is the program that put that entry in the registry.

It worked! I created a restore point and deleted the offending "winreview_personalization" registry entries. Right-clicking on the desktop now shows only one Personalization window--the one that's supposed to be there. Looks like there are no ill effects from the registry deletion, either. Problem solved.

    Thanks, derekimo.
