Whoa man the clock gadget is great. I'm using skin number 2, and it meshes nicely with my other gadgets. I'd rep you, but there aren't any scales in this thread (idk why)
Its because the thread is too old to rep. After something like 4 weeks the scales disappear

    cpu problem with SF gadget

Anyone notice that gadget has an affinity for one processor? Whenever its running one core runs 12% higher than the other. Put it to sleep and it stops, wake it and it starts. Anyone else?

    Hi Ken,

I noticed this it seems around a couple of months ago. I sent a message to Limneos and he acknowledged it and was going to look into it if he had time. I haven't seen him on the forum in a while now. For me, the gadget was almost unuseable. I was able to use System Explorer to set the priority of the "sidebar.exe" process to "idle" and that made it usable again. Love this little gadget but sure wish it wouldn't use so much CPU!

Other things you can do is set the refresh rate lower (def=7) mine is set to 30sec. Gadget uses say 20% cpu, which I can deal with, but with 1 core running higher than the other that core runs hotter. With gadget sleeping one core runs at 100F, wake gadget and that core goes to 130F within a couple of mins. I have to tear the laptop apart and clean it to make sure its not my hardware but. I have also changed affinity to see if it was my cpu core, but if seems like its gadget.

I use gadget as you prob have seen alot, and hope limnoes will port it over to win 8, but I think he has done a very good job.

When you click "Show Desktop" only open application windows should minimize so you can see your desktop with icons and running gadgets, but SevenForums gadget hides itself completely. When "Show Desktop" is clicked the gadget is nowhere to see, not as a gadget with other gadgets on desktop and not minimized in Taskbar. Gadget stays though on desktop if you just hover over "Show Desktop", but then I can not click links in gadget.

I like this gadget. I have most often both screens full of stuff. Would be nice to occasionally just check the desktop with one click to see whats happening on SevenForums and be able to click a link if I see something interesting but now I have to minimize all open windows one by one to do that.
