1. Create a new layer
2. Mask the area you want to show the gradient
3. Apply the gradient (with the gradient tool) using your preferred colour
4. I add a little "Gaussian Blur" but that's up to you
5. Change the "opacity" if required
6. Move the new layer down to where it's required ie. behind window reflection
7. Add a cup of sugar, bake at 200 C for 20 min --- hang on --- ignore step 7 that's the recipe for baking a cake
Object 15 is just a standard new "layer style" using a "drop shadow"

Ok friend, I am trying this out including step 7 as it is Sunday. I will report you what happens
I'm hoping to see if I can get a wallpaper made. I'd like it dark and green with the eset logo and robot, the AMD logo and Gigabyte logo and saying "Windows 7 securtiy" with a 7 "orb" and "tw33k" like in my current sig. Keen to see what you can come up with.

Why do you always post that you are no good at designing? Are you looking for praise or do you have low self-esteem? You are good and heaps of people agree. You need to stop posting like this.
Friends like Anthony, Gladson, PooMan, Prisoner, LilDomii, D3ftOn3Z and others helped me step by step. I am greatful to them. Whatever I learned is all their teaching. I also got huge moral support from you and Sergio. My friend scoopeeedo and noobvious also encourages me to improve myself. But I know that I just started ... and
I love it! Thank you very much mate
edit: Not meaning to be a pain but after having looked at for a while I have a small request. Could you make the Gigabyte logo green as well? I think it would blend better...
If the Gigabyte logo is green, that wouldn't look good. So I adjusted it in another way, and as the above doesnot go with your resolution, made it widescreen. Hope you will like it
New background, new objects arrangement, tried to make it neat . If you like it, dont forget it to show how it looks
