Need help with the click+drag look

So a week or two ago my click and drag suddenly changed from click+drag=blue highlight to the click+drag= dashed line highlight (like if you were to use WinXP and wanted to highlight your desktop)

It didn't bother me TOO much but I miss the look of the blue box, and I don't know how to change it back

(Sorry for being a 1 poster, I know how people hate seeing 1 posters ask for helps)

Not at all, we love all posters the same. :)

Anyways, no I don't know why your blue box would suddenly become a dotted line box. What were you doing at the time? You had to have done something.

Let's see if I can remember, my short term memory is worse then my long term

But I believe I used TuneUp Utilities 2009 optimization, and set it so that "Graphics and speed have balance" or something like that

TuneUp isn't compatible with Win7, btw, and it won't let me open it again

Then I know exactly what happened.

Follow this tutorial to get to the visual effects dialog box.

    Visual Effects Settings - Change

Then, there should be an option to turn on the translucent selection box. It's probably unchecked. Check it to get your blue box back.
