    Single Monitor shutdown script

    Hi

I have recently started using multiple monitors but due to my second monitor having a VGA connection it defaults to the primary display when starting up and it shows the bios and windows log on and only once windows has started will it revert back to my DVI primary display.

My question is: Would a shutdown script in the group policy be able to set windows to use a single display only everytime the PC is shut down? This would therefore mean the bios and windows log on would only have one monitor to choose from and it would display correctly.

    I am running windows 7 64 bit

    thanks

Welcome to Seven Forums asbuild. This may be better posted in the Hardware and Devices forum. This is a discrete graphics card with a VGA and a DVI output? The VGA will be default if it is written that way in the video cards own BIOS. The boot screen is from the motherboards BIOS, and only after windows boots do the settings for primary and secondary monitors take over. Group policy will not apply until windows takes over as well. Feel free to post the question in the correct forum and see if anyone else has a different answer. A Guy
