I want a Start Screen for Windows 7

Okay, I started to post this in the chillout room since I don't really expect a resolution, but then I am serious about wanting a Start Screen in Windows 7.

I'm using 8 here at work and on one computer at home. When I use the second home computer, with Windows 7, I catch myself doing things I habitually do in 8, such as opening an app, then hitting the Super key (Windows Logo key) to bring my Start Screen back so I can open something else, but it just brings up the Start Menu.

Funny how you can get so used to something in such a short time.

How's that for being "bass ackwards" ?? Most people want the Start Menu back in 8. I want the Start Screen in 7.

Comments welcome.

P.S. Mods feel free to move the post if the chillout room is a better place.

Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit Professional

Hello Pricetech,

Do you mean the Metro UI?
If so, you might want to check out Rainmeter. This handy tool allows you to customize your desktop to look however you want. To make it look like the Metro UI, you might want to take a peep at the Omnimo theme.

Good luck and keep us posted,

Why is my screen black when I start Windows 7?
Video adapter problems are the most common cause of this issue. First, try to find out if there's a problem with the cables you're using or the way they're connected. If you have an alternate way of connecting your monitor to your PC, try it. For example, if your monitor is connected using an...
