    Hey Mike,

First off, thanks for the rep mate

I took a peep at the .zip you attached, and made some small adjustments:)
Custom Made Sig and Avatar [14]-brick-wall-neon-spa-3000-1688-tweaked-bit-copy.jpg

Basically what I did was give the font some more thickness by filling it in. That way it's more clearly to read and the glows you used after that are clearer. I also made the glows a tad smaller so that the focus is more on the text.

It's just a quick draft, so there's flaws in it, but it's just for reference:)

Also, the zip is 23mb's large so I can't attach it here. Here's a link to it on my dropbox page, link.

You can remove the file now I know your close to running out of space there
I was playing around and came up with this but of course 150 did not work very well,

Double For me man that's a trick
    I still don't quite get the re-size bit ?
Can you post a screen shot of the options ?
    Cheers.
What I was referring to was that since the image was now on one layer everything would resize proporionaly so you would not get weird effects with some parts not resizing properly.
    Bingo
I did what you said and the result was amazing !
Then I assumed saving it as png ?
Which I'm not sure I want ps to compress the file any advice on this popup I started using None/fast,

I usually just accept the default but feel free to experiment.

Keith, I personally think that merging the layers will affect the chance of future edit-ability of the PSD. I think the best way is either place a blank layer on the top of all layers and then Image > Apply image; or save the large sized png and then resize it.

Nick taught me to do the second option all the times. :)
Actually in PS if you use CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-E instead it creates a new layer above the existing ones. This is also what Layer->New from Visible does in GIMP.
Did and worked like a charm
And from now it will be my only option
I wish I could add to you right now, but I have to wait
Just noticed that Julian posted this tip in the GFX Team forum some time ago.

In my opinion Mike, the neon glow has too much saturation and size, it's washing out the text, which on a real sign would be most bright.

Here's my idea and the psd.

Thanks Gary that does look allot better,
Question did you use the file I posted on skydrive ?
I attempted to post it using the forum but it was taking so long to upload I canceled and just uploaded it to skydrive instead,
    Reason I'm asking I don't see a resize trail ?
But did notice the file you used mostly soft light where I believe the tutorial used vivid light I'll look see again and compare them,

    @Julian owe yea
There seems to be a conflict on starting out file sizes,
You and it seems Gary start out as 1300x300 and build on that,
I've gone with 2600x600 for the most part but adding borders are adding on that which end up being about 700px so I started going with 3000x700 final+-
This actual file started out as the size of the wall BG which was already posted on the skydrive file as 3000x1650+-
    Cheers.
the size is about it fitting on the forum when made as a sig

when you start out be it 2600 or 1300 , make the border first, within the shape of the canvas then make the rest inside the frame/border , when finished you either save that as a png then open that png you just saved, resize the image to 650x 150 then you have the finished sig size and the resize is fine because the layers didnt distort.
the other way is as you now know to create a merged layer and resize that.

Yes I used your file, I used the cropping tool then resized it to <the wrong> what it is, I should have made the 300 a 150 instead. I resized before saving it too.

I doubt I'll ever be able to thank everyone enough for the great advice,
Special thanks to Keith and Julian for the awesome keyboard shortcut and Gimp's save layer from visible what a difference it makes,
The shadows just come alive but not sure it does good things the face of these letters ?
Posting it to see what it looks like on a white BG,
    Cheers to all
