Make my Programs folders and the "All users" Programs folders match
I usually have many programs installed on my system, and like to keep them very well organized, so I create folders for "Media Tools", "Performance Tools", "Online Tools", "Security" and "General Tools". It makes it a lot easier to find what I need to open.
But I have always had to put in a little bit of extra effort when I begin to notice that the Start menu folders in my user profile (under Appdata\Local\<etc.>) don't match the ones in the "All Users" folders, which live in the "ProgramData" folder.
Is there a simple way to do this? I thought if perhaps I could make one set of those folders some kind of a symbolic link to the other, that might solve the problem, but I made a huge mess of things when I tested this.
BTW, this is caused because some programs install automatically just for the user that is logged in, and others install for "all users"... some setup programs ask which you'd prefer, but most don't... maybe if I could just always be sure to run setup in that "all users" mode the problem wouldn't exist...
Any ideas?
Thanks,
