File placed on Desktop under Gadget--?

I printed a .pdf file and saved it to the desktop. Certainly the type of file isn't inportant, but the file was placed under a Gadget I had in the upper left of my screen. Is this normal or should the file have been placed somewhere else on the desktop? I do not have auto arrange turned on.

Yes it will always place icons on the left side to the top of the screen and the next one will go under it, best not to place your gadgets on the far left.

OK, I will keep it in mind and not put the gadgets over there.

    Thanks.

I was thinking, if I really wanted to put the gadget on the left, I might try putting something unimportant, like an empty folder, under it so nothing else could be placed there. Of course, if there was something you wanted to hide...

You may give Microsoft feedback about this... Gadgets should take room on the desktop so that no shortcut/file can be placed imho...
