Well, I spoke too soon. After a day's use, I find that at 119% the clock is visible, but so distorted that it's hard to use (and unpleasant to look at). Both the minute and second hands pick up pink blobs at their tips at certain points.

This is weird and dumb. 110% is too small for me to see well; I'm going back to 125% and giving up on this gadget. BTW, for folks who use the Opera browser, there's an extension for it that puts a clock in a browser tab. I can put it in a separate Opera window, resize that window as small as I desire, and move it to an inconspicuous spot on my screen, thereby giving me a desktop clock. to IE!

I also recently (and unwisely, I think) let Windows 7 upgrade to Internet Explorer 11. So far I've found two things that this broke, and one of them was the gadgets. The only one I use is the clock, but I like it a lot. It didn't show up pink -- it didn't show up at all! Other gadgets, yes; but no clock. After reading this thread, I did some testing, and found that the maximum at which I could get the clock gadget back was 119%, about 114 DPI (which also un-pinked the others I tested; however, the tip of the clock's minute hand is pink!). I much prefer 125% = 120 DPI for readability, but this is just tolerable (so far; I need to try it for a few days). Thanks for the advice here!

Thanks, Jerry! Looks perfect at 125% = 120 DPI.

In the meantime, I had gone to http://www.styleseven.com/ and gotten their Desktop Clock-7. The free version is nice, though it doesn't offer transparency. For $5 you can upgrade to Pro and use colors and background images.

So now I've got two excellent clock possibilities. I appreciate your work!

My gadgets look good. I think I actually prefer the smaller font size.

Not sure what is effecting Gadgets. I've installed IE 11 twice without any issue. My Gadgets work fine. Leads me to believe the problem lies elsewhere.

IE11 may not be the problem or it 'might' be, because of other factors. Though I am no computer expert, my experience with these machines tells me that certain combinations of variables produce anomalies. I updated to IE11 and, tho I use only 2 gadjets (CPU Usage w/Core Temp & Network Meter), I have no problems whatsoever. I heard of gadjets no longer being supported and I'm sure developers either have stopped or never updated them. These two that I use were updated this year. Maybe that is why they work for me? Also, sometimes custom themes can produce an unusual anomaly also. With computers, all bets are off and the hunt begins!

The configuration affects system function and performance.

And there is no uninstall for ie 11 as it's not showing up in my programs list. Please help as it's making me crazy and I want to keep the gadgets. Also how can I restore. IE from the windows 7 disk and the gadgets as well to see if doing that works. thanks Matt

Did you look at your DPI settings and see if they are at 125% or 100%?
I can show you how to edit the gadget .xml file so they will work with higher then 100% DPI.
