    Gadget problems

    Hey all,

Just a strange problem, recently upgraded with new SSD drive, system and all works great...,
I have several gadgets loading on startup, Core Temp, Nvidia GPU temp, Intel All CPU meter and Drive Meter,
they work great and used to load after logon..., now for some reason they do not show up at all and while I select gadgets from the right click menu nothing comes up....
I tried a couple of fixes , UAC set at default, Windows features on / off all good gadgets checked on..,
still they don't show up until I log off and log back on then they load up lol..., when I shut off the system and cold boot they don't load...

    any ideas ?

    thanks

Change your DPI to 100% and they will work. There are some threads on here that explain it all and other fixes. Or go back to IE10

Yes it does. There were n-teen reports about gadget trouble with IE11. That's why I did not install it.

Well I don't care for IE 11 , what would be the best solution, uninstall it ?? or just change the DPI size to 100 ? I like to have my windows up to date , but I never use IE anyways, I use Firefox instead ...

IE11 may not be the problem or it 'might' be, because of other factors. Though I am no computer expert, my experience with these machines tells me that certain combinations of variables produce anomalies. I updated to IE11 and, tho I use only 2 gadjets (CPU Usage w/Core Temp & Network Meter), I have no problems whatsoever. I heard of gadjets no longer being supported and I'm sure developers either have stopped or never updated them. These two that I use were updated this year. Maybe that is why they work for me? Also, sometimes custom themes can produce an unusual anomaly also. With computers, all bets are off and the hunt begins!

It would your chose to uninstall IE 11 or 100% DPI

Or keep IE 11 and higher DPI and edit the gadget.xml in each gadget folder.
Right click on the gadget.xml chose Edit

Notepad opens and edit out the line highlighted in red.

remove IE. Why have stuff you never use? (especially since IE11 is an optional update)
