    Animated/Interactive Desktop Icons

    Hi guys,

I like keeping just a few icons on my desktop to maintain minimalism. I'm looking for a way to make those icons animated/interactive so that when my mouse floats over them, it opens a 'balloon' which shows other folders/files within that folder. This will lead to increased visibility of nested contents and allow easier access with fewer clicks.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

Welcome back bonoz Someone might come up with something, but I'll offer some alternatives.

First is Quick Launch, which can accomplish what you want on the taskbar

Quick Launch - Enable or Disable

To take that a bit further, there is the free 7Stacks

    Announcing: 7stacks - stacks for 7 (freeware)

    7stacks | Alastria Software

You might also consider either Objectdock or Rocket Dock, both of which are capable of "stacks"

    Rocketdock & Object dock

    About RocketDock - RocketDock.com

Objectdock is no longer free, it is $4.99 now There are still downloads of the last freeware version online

Download ObjectDock v2.0 (freeware) - AfterDawn: Software downloads

I personally use Objectdock, but many use Rocketdock, and there are many themes/icons available. I have not used desktop icons since I started using a dock. A Guy
