I would wait for a week or two before using it,
Removing updates will kill any chance of uninstalling any bad ones 
But yes a great tool

Whilst in my tidy up mode earlier ...
When I upgraded to Lightroom 5 a few months ago I also added a Plug-in to cure an issue with Sigma Lenses not being identified correctly in LR - Giving such gems of logic as Lens 28-80mm and Focal Length 10mm , when using my 10-20mm Zoom.
I got around to doing some corrections a day or two ago, and being cautious, (the Plugin changes the internal metadata of the actual original file), I used the backup originals option whilst testing - and forgot all about it when I went into full mode, on some of my images
Remembered today and recovered 36GB on my Image Drive

Make sure you have the update mentioned in this post
Update is available that enables you to delete outdated Windows update
