Hi Charlie, IMHO you should use PS CS2, I supplied a link to you earlier. There is no offense in using it. It will not only make the life easier but also the outcome sharper.
There are lots of programs that can do the job, but PS is the only thing at the end of the day. If you put your time and effort in learning PS, it will not be a time and effort lost.
My Photoshop experience started with the "free" CS2. It has all the basic facilities that later versions have expanded on.
CS2 is still my program of choice, I do own a CS3 license but I stick with CS2, it's the business. The worrying thing is I haven't been able to get it to install on Windows 10![]()
For Brian (ADDRAM). I didn't really like the first one so I did a second with my own image...
