What mean CS6, LR, PS, CC, GFX, etc

To help read the thread, at least for the ones not accustomed enough (I personally lost some time before making sure I misunderstood nothing), here are (IIUC) the acronyms often used above:

- CS6 = Adobe Creative Suite 6 (idem versions 1 to 5)
- LR = Adobe Lightroom
- PS = Adobe PhotoShop
- CC = Adobe Creative Cloud
- GFX = Graphic Effects

TIA to anyone with corrections or improvements.

Graphic Cards
Looking for some graphics software
Have had a look at Paint Net and Gimp but am not sure if they will do what I want to do. I haven't had much to do with graphics per se' and haven't got a really decent GPU and I don't mind a paid for app as long as it isn't going to break the bank. So any suggestions please?
