Yep just because Gimp releases a new version or a beta version doesn't mean you should hurry and download it,
It did the same thing to me as you Jamie
Luckily I don't use gimp that much and needed to clear some fonts mostly Adobe useless fonts gimp had archived and filled the top with nothing but fonts I would never use,
So there is a silver lining in there :)
    No more Adobe fonts

Does it say Try now or something in cc control panel ?

That might be why I dumped cc for cd,
120.00+ a year is not terrible but to pursue illustrator would of more than doubled that venture for personal use no less :/
    Thanks Keith

Yep I see it a single app is an additional 20 u.s.

I says Try, which means it's not included.

    Thanks,
I had a conversation with Adobe yesterday,
Asking if they can or in the future have a better building process or other bundling options for cc,
Asked if they would take it as feed back to bundle photoshop and illustrator as one bundle and drop all of the other stuff that's included in cc now for 9.99,
I don't think it went well

    Bingo
    Adobe yikes,
The funny part is they said illustrator is three years old and not going to get any updates,
I said than why is it 20.00 extra sounds like possibly 5.00 would be a better price then,
Adobe silence and back to sells mode,
You can get cc for 9.99 and illustrator for 19.99 + tax...
I said no thanks I have cd6 now thanks anyway

If it's 3 years old you may be able to find a cheap copy of an older version.
