CD7 was logical for a newbie to try it's half the cost of cs6,
Too bad it didn't like my system or just buggy in the new release ? Nick hasn't posted anything about his experience with it yet he did the 30 day trail working out a workspace file for me to use,

CD6 rollback hasn't been too bad of a disappointment but still is a bit :/
I've never been into photography and I've pushed away from using images in projects as a forced learning process of making patterns... assets and manually tracing objects for projects I have to say it's fun and I learn more :)

cc6 is always an option I doubt it's going anywhere and who knows Adobe might email me back when the official expiration of cc6 is about November/ December and have a new offer for me to sign up for

Until then cc6 was a distraction from forcing me to learn cd/ cp I don't regret my decision Gimp is always there although it did die yesterday pretty much what Jamie experienced = missing icons ?
Cheers and thanks for the tips Nigel and you too Keith

It looks like there is not a trial period on the Home and Student version so I will leave it for now.

    That's disappointing
I'm sure they'll offer it in time,
It is troubling how everything is getting so convoluted with online content and premium memberships at an additional cost
Looking for steady revenues to support products and add other features the new business model
    I find it somewhat ugly.

Unfortunately the number of Pirate copies in the wild of top end programs means that the developers have to try new methods to combat this - the subscription model is the current best choice, for the developers, as though I could go online now and get pirate copies of Corel X5,6 and more than likely x7 as well as copies of CS6, I don't believe I could get a workable copy of CC.

The regular licence checks and the built in "killswitch", if your copy is not online is currently the best anti piracy measure available. I dare say it will be broken eventually and then the licencing become even more draconian. The regular income source is one reason for this model but by no means the only one, If piracy was not an issue I'm sure the cost of software would fall

The subscription model also has its benefits for the user particularly if the price is set right. I think the photographers package for Lightroom and Photoshop CC is a bargain even though I don't really use Lightroom.

Maybe they'll pick up on the apparent success of the photographers package and create a designers package Illustrator & Photoshop, or a Video package with a couple of their video apps to persuade those who have a specialist workflow other than Photo editing

That would be good, but I doubt it somehow.

Darn pirates spoil it for everyone

    Never say never,
cc6 hasn't been out for a year yet as far as I know so it's anyone's guess on where cc will expand or split features up in the future ?

I haven't looked at the pricing in a while for cc2014 I believe it was double what the early intro was going for,
Next year it may increase so cc'ers please update us on your renewals :)

All I know is as far as my subscription goes for the photography package - The price has not increased, although the price of $9.99 was originally reported as a start up special price, this is now a set price, also the package is now part of the regular Creative Cloud options not an introductory offer as originally reported.

One other thing that is unusual, is that price here in the UK is actually a calculated one rather than the usual change the $ for £ system that normally applies
