How to change Windows 7 blues ?

As a commercial Photographer I use a computer mostly for digital imaging and have always turned off all unnecessary visual effects that impact system performance. I try to make the interface as neutral a colour as possible to not influence colour perception : gray desktop, gray Photoshop environment etc.. With Vista I have used the ‘Silver’ theme that worked very well and Windows XP also offered a simple gray interface.

Windows 7 appears to offer only a ‘baby blue’ interface. I’ve been unable to find any way to change it. Windows Classic will not work as many Adobe menus will no longer display their text labels properly. Windows Basic would be fine if it offered a way to change the blue to gray. I’m now using an Aero interface that I’ve made a gray as possible. But I’m still left with a lot of app menus using that ‘baby blue’ colour.

Is there any way to fix this without adding hack/crack software that might diminish system performance when using Photoshop and Bridge, etc.. ?

If there’s not a solution, is there some place on the Web where Microsoft monitors user requests? This new Windows 7 interface seems to be a step backwards.

Or is there something I’ve missed?

    Thanks

Ditto. It's a bizarre step back, given that every prior version of Windows going back for over a decade has allowed you do customize the color of everything in the UI.

Ahh... I skipped Vista, so I had no idea such themes was possible. Questions:

Does this require third-party software to be run (i.e. any performance implications)?
Do you know where I could find more Windows 7 themes?
    Is it reversible?
Is there an API for this?

Check back with me tomorrow...I will provide a way (as a tutorial) to run the theme (unsigned theme) on 7 without modifying System Files
