Account Logo image altered sporadically, can't find culprit

A few weeks ago, this began to happen intermittently at log in: the flower like logo below appears superimposed over my Courage-The-Cowardly-Dog account logo. The flower is not part of the original photo and it appears at the same time on all the other accounts I have on this machine but not on other machines I own. It doesn't always happen, most of the days I do not see it. If I log in and log out , it's gone. I can't find any information on that symbol or someone having a similar problem. Can anyone offer an opinion? I run Zone Alarm as an antivirus and my main account is not an admin.

    Thanks.

Figured it out with help from a friend from work. It's the Junos Pulse, a VPN provider I had to install for work.

That flower is their subtle indication - I guess - that the machine and account are also provisioned for a VPN - in addition to my home network.
