    changing what program is used?

When I right click a photo and click "edit", I would like for it to use Paint instead of whatever that default program is.

    How do I do this?

That doesn't change the defualt edit program, just the program used to open that file type. If I want a .jpg file to open using Windows Live Gallery, but to be edited by Paint, then what?

Other Idea's? Or am I missing something?

In the short-term, use open with.

Since my sys is not "broken, I cannot test this, but see if the file type in question is located here in the registry.

No, this is the key you need:

In my system I have set it to use Paint.NET when I select Edit from the right-click menu.

You will have to adjust this to the program you want. Do this for each filetype (jpegfile, bmpfile etc)

    Alternatively, see here:

I don't actually think it's possible, you'll always have to do it manually, unless u want to view AND edit in Paint, then you can just set Pain as default.

With gimp it adds an option to "Edit with Gimp"

    not sure if that helps
