Hate to burst the bubble but I guess I spoke too soon. Upon another restart after it worked again, it fails to show up on my gadget list again. LOL

Yeah, still the same result. And I've restarted a few times more. None of my other gadgets are affected. Maybe there's just something wrong with the MC gadget, bugs to be worked out. I'll just wait till the next build.

You can try installing the one from Windows Live Gallery then over-write those files with the ones from Brink?

I'm sorry the fix became a mirage

I'm sorry to hear that Aaron. I unmarked the thread as solved. Hopfully someone may come up with a solution before the next build reinstall for you.

Yeah, I had already looked into that one from the Live Gallery earlier but I don't think it's the same single default M$ one. It's four separate gadgets for SideShow.

Yes, you're right, I saw the same thing as I tried to install it on my machine. An interesting thing that I've discovered with Windows Media Center gadget, it is not the same as the other gadgets as this one is built within the OS. Since you mentioned that this happened during a repair install, another repair install might do the trick but I'd put it off as a second to the last resort

Btw, I've also noticed that missing gadgets are also linked with UAC settings, I'd suggest setting it back to defualt if you've turned your UAC off to see what happens. You might try other settings as well.

Yeah, I don't know if another repair install would be worth it for one gadget. It would probably just happen the same again. I believe Mr. Grim also had his disappear from the same thing. I don't know his input on if his gadget that he got from mcblzr is fully functional and doesn't disappear.

There must be something missing, but as to what...

I've tried every step I know, I don't disable UAC, I've taken ownership of it, killed and reinitialized the sidebar process, etc.
