rotating taskbar at top of screen

I had a rotating taskbar on top of my screen when i got windows 7 on my new laptop- it was like the apple one but has now dissapeared- how do i get this back?

What make of laptop do you own and what did the dock/taskbar do ?

I've had a few Acer laptops that come pre installed with something similar to Rocket dock.I know that HP Touch Smart also comes with something similar to a taskbar as well.

You could try your manufacturers site and look under the drivers/applications section on the website. With Acer you have to download and install each application into the "Dock" one at a time. Obviously these are dependant on your make and model of P.C and are completely separate from W7.

I got the sony vgnnw20 laptop the new series it came with windows 7 home edition and the toolbar was preinstalled and looked like part of windows- like an arrow at the top of the screen and only when you put the mouse on it does the applications come and show otherwise they are hidden

any ideas how this can be switched on again

just realised this is the vaio gate software. i have got it working again- one question how do i extract the files from this laptop so i can use vaio gate on another laptop as i realise this software is not downloadable from anywhere else
