    Desktop Background does not change

No matter what I try to change my desktop background it always stays as the default windows wallpaper
if I click on an image and choose "Set as desktop background" I always get an error saying

The file C:\user\"myusername"\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows Photo Viewer\Windows photo viewer wallapaper.jpg could not be written

Please check permissions on this file and try again

It's the same with any image I try even the default ones in the windows themes don't work

Try going to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes and delete the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and try again.
AppData is hidden use step 3 of this tutorial to unhide it File and Folder - Hide or Unhide

Thank you It changes now but only to the wallpapers provided in the Aero themes section
I still get the same error whenever I try to set any other individual image or create a slideshow as a desktop background

Are these pictures that you downloaded ?

Have you put them into a folder ?

Put them into a folder, then choose personalize from the desktop, then click desktop background, then up top click browse and go to the folder you created, click on the folder and that should be it. Click Save changes down the bottom.

    They are pictures I downloaded
This method also doesn't work and there is no error, just nothing happens.
