This is driving me crazy! The view button in slide show doesn't work. I didn't install any software that might cause the problem. I've tried uninstall and reinstall it but it still wouldn't work. I installed windows live photo gallery. I'm running Win7 home premium from HP. Can anyone tell me how to get it work?

I'm not sure if it will work with Windows Live Photo Gallery set as the default program. I have not tried it.
Double check in Default Programs to make sure that Windows Photo Viewer is set as the default program with all of it's associations set to it as well instead to see if works properly afterwards.

You might see if running a sfc /scannow command may help. If not, then you might see if turning the Windows Gadgets Platform feature off and on in Windows Features may reset it to work again.
tried everything. still won't work...
then I downloaded a gadget called "Modified Slide Show gadget". It's finally working! It works with both windows photo viewer and windows live photo gallery, whichever is set to be the default program. And it looks exactly the same as the original one.
Still not sure why the original one won't work though...
A repair install should fix the original one, but I'm happy that you found a workaround that works for you to use instead though. I wouldn't bother with the repair install now. :)
