Unable to change black desktop background!

So, I just finished installing my windows 7 32-bit yesterday and I had installed all the drivers and everything. Everything was fine until I ran FIFA 10 on my PC today. The game ran well, but as soon as I closed it, my desktop background became black. The strange thing about it is that there's always a glimpse of the current set wallpaper once I click on the instant desktop button on the bottom-right corner of the screen but as soon as I reach the desktop, it again shows a black wallpaper. Tried solutions like changing the value through Regedit and also went tried deleting the trans-colored file and stuff, but the problem's unusual. Please help me out, do I need to reinstall my NVIDIA VGA driver or something else should be done?
Help will be appreciated.

I changed this in the registry some time ago to prevent my child from messing with it. Now I can't remember how I did it. It's not corrupted drivers or anything
