Hello Mariann now just out of curiosity why do you want to change the arrows and just what is that screen of?? Personally unless they are not very visible to you I wouldn't bother. Second it would be (for me anyway) extremely difficult to find the settings in the registry and then maybe they are set on concrete.

The only way I know of changing any Windows graphical stuff is through the Control Panel ie Personalisation , Display settings etc. I seem to remember one could change certain windows in different colours and fonts etc in XP but in 7 I have never wanted to except for wallpapers etc

Maybe one of the more experienced members seeing this might know

Take a look at this tutorial by Brink and see if is what you are looking for.

    Hello Mariann, :)

This is not quite the same as what you are wanting, but you might take a look to see if it may help.

After taking another look at the picture, which is very small, I think Brink has a better idea and has a better tutorial choice.

I just complete Shawn's choice of tutorials and I like the results. I get the nice little Icons but the arrow to the left are still the same.

    Thanks Shawn!

Consider leaving the arrows as is, 'cause you will instantly recognize a shortcut as a shortcut, not something else like an exe [program or utility].
