Windows 7: Where can I view custom shortcut keys that I have created?

Where can I view custom shortcut keys that I have created?

Hi there,

Pressing ctrl+shift+n opens Google Chrome, no matter what program I am on.

My guess is that I have created a shortcut file to Chrome and then set ctrl+shift+n as the shortcut key in this shortcut's properties. I want to change this back now so that ctrl+shift+n has the normal program specific functions again but I can't find the shortcut file. I have searched my hard drive for "chrome" but can't find it. I think I must have named it something else.

Is there a place on Windows 7 (Ultimate) where I can view all such custom shortcuts that I have created? Or is there any other way of solving this problem?

Hi Wpbdry,

Two programs that might help you here:

HotKeysList - View registered hot keys on Windows
Hotkey Commander - Powerful Hotkey Managing and Overriding Tool

The first is free from NirSofer, the second is a trial but should allow you to view what exact program is locking that hot key.

I hope this helps,

Which Shortcut Keys are available?
I know how to create shortcut keys, what I don't know is which hotkeys are not currently in use. I don't want to overwrite something else. Does anyone have a list of maybe 5-6 free spaces on the keyboard so to speak?

Shortcut keys for jpg files
I have created a shortcut to a jpg file. It opens fine when I click the shortcut. However, when I assign any key to it the key will not open the jpg although the jpg still opens when I click on it. What am I missing? Maybe this approach does not work with a jpg file.
