Logon failing on custom Theme
Hi All,
I hope someone can shed some light on this.
I have patched my windows using UniversalThemePatcher_20090409 which reports success on the three DLL files it patches.
I use windows in inverted colour and to correct the colours of the progress bars, i.e.
Magenta -> Green
Cyan -> Red
I have built the attached MSSTYLE using Win7 Style Builder and edited the built-in Aero.theme to point to this modified msstyle.
The problem I have is that if I attempt to login to windows when this theme is enabled, windows will log me out again immediately (I must then load windows in Safe-Mode to disable Theme service in order to login again).
If however I choose a different Aero theme that uses the built-in MSSTYLE (e.g. Characters Theme) before logging out, it will log me again just fine and I am then free to select the modified Aero Theme with the correct colour progress bars. I think I also have to switch to a non-aero theme e.g. High-Contrast first before returning to the Win7 Aero theme).
I feel I am doing something wrong here but I'm not sure what this is, if anyone here can shed any light on it that would be marvelous.
It feels like something in the theme is confusing or crashing the process that occurs between logging in screen and user desktop.
I have attached the theme in the hope it helps you to help me (ultimately to help myself!)
All the very best for now,
Lynysys
