Changed the default Win7 folder icons, but thumbnails keep reverting.
Good night, I have the problem described in the title. In detail, I followed this tutorial to the letter:
Folder Icon - Change Default Icon
I followed every step without fail and made sure there was no mistake. Yes, i changed every icon necessary in the imageres.dll, took ownership and replaced as stated and I did rebuild and delete the thumb cache.
Now, thing is I got the desired effect, my folders changed to a red folder icon I downloaded, and this is true for every new folder I make, but after a while SOME folders, not all, revert back to the deafault yellow color.
Sometimes it happens when I save a new file on one folder, sometimes when I modify or interact with it, and other times it seems to be completely random: I download, say, a image, and the browser shows me all the folders in certain directory and the are all red; the next day I download another image, and then the browser "save" window shows me the same directory, but now all folder are yellow. Sometimes I have a directory with mixed red/yellow folders without any pattern or sense.
The issue seem to be fixed if I use Disk Cleanup to wipe out the thumbs, but it comes back after a while, even if I again rebuild/delete the cache.
Could anybody tell me which may be the problem here?
Thanks!
