    Unwanted Thumbnails


    Hi guys i want to pick your brains about a niggly thing that's been happening recently.i have my "on start up" page set to google(plain page) and my "new tab" (or second screen) shows my bookmarks (thumbnails) which was fine.recently my new tab page has lost my bookmarks (thumbnails) and have been replaced by 8 unwanted thumbnails eg:aliexpress,booking.com,facebook,gearbest,youtube.amazon,twitter and ebay.the problem i have is that those thumbnails cannot be deleted in the normal way i e:by clicking the "x" because it does not exist.can any of you guys please enlighten me as to how i can find a way around this.your help as usual is always greatly appreciated,and,thank you in advance for help offered.P.S i hope this is in the correct forum.

    It sounds like you installed a program which modified your browser settings, I hate these things.
    Could you take a screenshot?

    Are you using Chrome or any of those browsers using Chrome engine?
    They usually "force" updates you want it or not depending on the browser brand.
    But it could be anything from a dodgy utility you installed, web page you visited, something you subscribed and so on.
    By the way, that is called "speed dial" and I couldn't find any trace of it in my browser's settings but if you want to find out more and play with it, have a look for speed dial recommended software which might give you the option to save your personalized settings: https://www.minterest.com/why-speed-...-tab-extension
