How do I get backgrounds to fit correctly with multiple monitors?

    Hello,

I have multiple monitors with different resolutions. I have set my desktop background to slideshow, and have tried all the picture position options to find something that works on all of them, but have failed. Whatever I do, I either have black bits at the edges of the largest monitor, or part of the picture chopped off on the smaller ones.

Is there a way to persuade Windows to fit the picture to each monitor's resolution?

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply, but maybe I didn't make myself clear enough. I'm not looking to spread one image across multiple monitors, I'm looking to have one picture display sensibly on each monitor.

Actually, what would be really nice is if I could have a different picture on each monitor, like Windows 10 does, but I don't think Windows 7 supports that.

    Thanks again, any other ideas?

I've been using a totally free 3rd party application for many years from at least Win7, maybe earlier Take a look it should meet your needs and many other options

Ooh, I'd forgotten about that! I used to use that years ago. I think I stopped as it was causing pauses on the machine when swapping pictures. Might try it again.

    Thanks for the reply.
