Command Prompt shortcut creation question

Using Windows 7 64 Bit pro I am trying to create a desktop shortcut to open a Command prompt window that opens and runs a file in C:/ called SimpleTimer.EXE

My DOS commands knowledge has faded and I am struggling with this, could someone kindly have a look at this screen shot and suggest where I am going wrong please? Thanks :)

I see two possible errors with your target:

1) Take out the "cd" that you have put after the /k.

2) Put "SimpleTimer.EXE" into another location, say, C:\Simple. The root folder of C: is a system area, and it has some restrictions as to its use. However, if you create a folder and put your program into that folder, there won't be any such restrictions.

To get some good information about using the CMD command, open a command prompt and enter the following command: cmd /?

Thanks, that seems to have worked, I also tried another approach and made a batch file to call the application, which is also working. I appreciate the time and help, thanks again to you! :)

It's simpler to just make a short cut directly to the exe

Command Prompt question
A weird thing has been bothering me for a while - I usually run command-line by simply typing "cmd" in the search box of the start menu.
