windows wallpaper not smooth, how to fix it ?

Hello, i had a little trouble with my laptop running a windows 7 on 1366x768 resolution.

I have much wallpaper all at the same size (3840x2160)
Why when i set the wallpaper to the desktop it's not smooth than when i open in windows viewer ?
as you can see on the picture down below, if you zooming it and look at the wallpaper text, the windows viewer had smooth view than the desktop.

Anyone knows why and how to fix it ?

    Thanks

The difference you see is most likely due to the fact that the basic algorithm used for fitting a large image to a small screen as wallpaper is actually not that good, the algorithm used by the Photo Viewer will normally employ a smoothing routine, which gives the differences you see.

I would always advise that you use a screen sized image for wallpaper in your case 1366x768 pixels - what you could do is make copies of your 3840x2160 images reduced to 1366x768, to use a wallpaper

The smoothing algorithm available in the viewer or something like Irfanview which is free and has even better algorithms, (actually it can give various options for resizing images that can give even better results as every image reacts differently ) than the windows viewer.

The large images you have are actually 8 times the area of the size you need for wallpaper so there will always be a loss of detail sharpness but use of a tool with control rather than the wallpaper "engine" should give better results
