Sidebar Favorites - can any of these things be done?

Sometimes I wonder what Microsoft was thinking when they designed the Favorites explorer sidebar. I mean, this is the hub of your computer - the starting point from which you access all your files - yet it's woefully lacking in terms of useability and organization.

Can any of the following things be done…?

Seven things I wish you could do with Favorites

    1. Nesting
Favorites would be easier to use if you could nest folders. This was asked 10 years ago, but has anyone found a way since then?

    2. Indentation
If we can't nest folders, it would be useful to be able to indent folders, to represent the folder structure more clearly.

    3. Dividers
Dividers would also help make the Favorites clearer to use. For example, you could have a divider between every drive.

    4. Colors
Favorites would be SO much easier to find quickly if you could give items a unique background color.

    5. Custom icons
Is there a way to change icons? These would help quickly find the folder you're looking for.

    6. Dual columns
It would be great to have 2 columns of Favorites. Not only would it save scrolling, but it would make item locations more memorable and structured.

    7. Hide "★ Favorites"
Finally, the fact that all the Favorites are indented under a "★ Favorites" heading is really annoying. Is there any way to get rid of this heading and bring the Favorites "to the top level" instead of being indented?

Can any of these things be done?

I don't have a sidebar, must have removed it years ago, so it is removable. I start most of my programs from the Start Menu, and the ones I use constantly from the Desktop. I've customized the StartMenu with Classic Shell to make it look like XP. Would you rather do that?
    I have 3 columns:

Thanks, but I prefer to use the Start Menu exclusively for programs, while using the 'Favorites' sidebar for my regular folders. Having links to all my folders right there in Explorer makes it super easy to access them.
