"Main Display" User Customization
SOHO network here and my personal box (twin monitors) serves as follows:
a) During "SO" hours, it serves as my personal CAD workstation
b) During "SO" hours, it serves as Small Office Data Server
c) During "HO" hours, it serves as gaming box for me (rare) and Flight Simulator / Gaming Box for 29 year old son (he's a pilot)
d) During "hO" hours, it serves as Home Media Server
- Left monitor is 144 hz connected to SLI's GFX cards
- Right monitor is 120 Hz, connected to IGP
All is right with the world except as follows:
A. I prefer the right monitor to be my "main", reason being I want the GFX cards to provide the additional performance whether in CAD or Gaming on left. The right monitor is where I keep utilities, web browser, spreadsheets, calculator, Character Map, etc. to keep them out of my main workspace for stuff that needs no oomph. If that screen is not the main, then my task bar and everything I need to access all the other stuff is under my full screen CAD image or game. Everything on right screen is windowed for easy access.
B. Son prefers left monitor to be his main, he really dooesn't use 2nd.
Problem is, what really is the purpose of having "User Settings" if every time he changes his main desktop settings, when I boot in for work the next morning, I have to change it back. Is there any way to make Win7 remember that two different users want two different desktop settings ?
