It may be possible to uninstall the application, in you case Axcrypt ? and then if you still require it's functionality, when you reinstall, after a few hard reboots - not restart, it may give you the option to control the adding of the context menu item, in the full or custom, install not the express install.
If not there are several methods to remove the entry
this is one idea ... https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...-context-menu/
I always wondered why some dumb stuff is in these context menus..Like Ccleaner also put 'clean with' right click in the recycle bin context menu.. Oh well, don't worry about it...Grab a beer and goggle the problem and while you may not find a solution you will enjoy the experience...
Those options are selectable upon a custom install. When you install a program, always chose the custom option and not the default option. This is one way Ads and other crap get installed to your computer because you didn't chose the custom option to install to allow you the option to opt out.
That's only partially correct..Not all programs have 'custom' install.
you can :
- use a registry crawler like regseeker (HoverDesk - Official RegSeeker homepage) allowing to query the registry for a pattern like 'open with xxyyzz' and delete the entry (fortunately, the software performs a backup of the edited keys)
- use a context menu editor like file menu tools (LopeSoft) allowing for an easier right click/context menu editing process
