    Saving Notification area icons

Hi all, is there a way to save the settings for icons in notification area the way i have them setup [my programs not the default icons], sometimes when explorer.exe crashes all the icons are reset to default, volume, network etc are visable while my programs are hidden and i have to customize them again, is there a way to avoid this with registry? or a program?

I'm bookmarking this thread, I need to write down for future use the solutions offered by others. Question, do you make routine OS partition backup images onto external media of your choosing?

    "https//www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/421172-how-repair-hidden-disappeared-systray-icons.html" -- using quotation marks
How-repair-hidden-disappeared-systray-icons - rewrote the URL label
I think the above is what RoWin7 was posting. I had to "reverse-engineer" what the web site garbled, I'm sure RoWin7 did not garble it up.

"is there a way to save the settings for icons in the notification area" -- apparently, after icons vanish, reconstruction time.
Is there a way to save/backup these icons? Not that I know of. I know how to backup the long grey bar, the Pin To Taskbar, icon collection -- however, that is not what OP is asking about, if I read the opening correctly.

It was Paul's other thread on this topic. I used " " and it got chopped anyway.
