Adding shutdown button to login screen

It looks like by default the login screen doesn't have a shutdown button unless you type in a username or password wrong I think it is.

Is there some kind of hack/registry/GUI trick I can do to add a shutdown button to the login screen? Perhaps there's a setting in group policy I don't know of?

Both options don't seem to work. And the policy and registry options were already set to show the power button. Maybe what I'll do is disable the registry option, shut down the computer and then re-enable and shut down the computer again.

I don't remember where I saw it but someone else said to use the Windows key + L and hit Enter when you're at the login screen.

If you hit Win + X, then the underlined letter, you'll launch the corresponding application. It's one of the fastest ways to access commonly-used system apps. Let's try it. Do Now: try using the keyboard combinations below to launch different system apps:
  • Win + X, then T (launches the task manager)
  • Win + X, then E (launches the File Explorer)
  • Win + X, then F (launches Apps and Features)
  • Try at your own risk, this will shut down your computer! Win + X, then u, then u again (Shuts down your computer)

I know about the Windows + L, key to lock the computer. I use it all the time and it's why I want a shutdown button in the lock screen.

I still have yet to try my idea.

After my last post, I thought something was screwy because of the "L." I tried to find the site where I saw that today and couldn't. Sorry about that.

However, I found a thread at Microsoft where the Microsoft employee said to simply click on "Switch User." Didn't quite understand that but when I did it, the Shutdown button appeared.

Yeah, I think it's there when I tried that. I just wanted the shutdown button there so the computer could be turned off by those that don't know.
