I'm very sorry to have to ask this after so long. I thought I had this done and I thought it was a registry fix.
But for the life of me I am unable to find this. I'm shocked to see when I left click start icon and right click on user name
and then click 'Open' it opens library instead of actual profile location. For the life of me I can't understand what happened?
Went back in older systems to see if I could find something and struck out.
I have been searching for many hours and can't seem to find anything other than:
Start_Menu_Music_Open_to_Users and the same with Documents, Videos & Pictures,
which nicely replaced library with actual relative user folder.
I can't find anything on changing this behavior with the user profile name.
I also can't understand what I did before to achieve this and on which system.
All I see now (among a few links to some programs) is 'copy', 'Show on Desktop', 'Show in Library'
Whatever's missing is a mystery, and it's probably from too much usmc and having 'my bell rung' far too many times.
Or maybe something I've heard called 'Oldtimer's Disease'..... Well, I got 'em all.
I've checked 4 systems including a lenovo laptop with the same 'Opens to library' behavior.
And I could have sworn at least one of them opened to the User profile location (on separate partition).
I'm stumped and getting close to FUBAR (Fowled* Up Beyond All Recognition - *polite version)
Could I have imagined it? After all, why wouldn't I have this with the above referenced?
I've been searching for this with various search engines from 17:00 hrs (5pm) to 12 midnight (about now).
I'm starting to see double....
About the only thing I haven't done is ask 'ai', but I ain't quite there yet with that. To me, it's a bit like 'voodoo'
Any help would be a massive help to me and would be wholeheartedly appreciated.
Mahalo (massive THANK YOU) to the amazing souls behind these incredible forums.
I knew this one was worth supporting. I'm only sorry I couldn't donate as often as I wanted.
It was $$ well spent and I will keep on doing that as much as I can.
P.S. I've even been on my 'Ask Woody' forum and couldn't find anything.
I didn't yet ask the question there.....
