DisableTaskbarOnTop - disable taskbar always on top

Thanks, though my preference is for auto-hide I know a lot of folks prefer to keep the Taskbar on screen.

Tweaker, you seem to be generating these "oh God thank you so much" fixes for Windows 7 at an unprecedented rate. I'm still enjoying your ShellFolderEx very much.

I do hope you're planning to publish a book (with accompanying CD of course) on making Windows 7 useful again. Something like "Enabling The Windows 7 'To Work' Option".

Its still ridiculous. One would think that after so many complaints from customers, and the fact this feature was available in every windows until 7, MS would just create an update fix, how hard could it be? I tried this fix and its not quite the same.

There's always going to be complaints about the interface.

I only want to see Security and other Update for Windows 7. or we have the same situation as Vista, 100+ fixes clogging up your computer.

Do you mean, reghakr, that adding software such as some of these nice tools Tweaker is providing causes additional processes to run, because I can't get my head around how 100+ fixes clog up anything.

I'm running a rock solid Vista system that's several years old, never crashes, has never been reinstalled, is as lean and fast as the day I finished setting it up (which happened a month after the initial install).

It's Internet Explorer that clogs up computers. Disable its predisposition to install everything from every site and your clog is gone!

I'm not saying anything bad about Tweaker's programs, it's Microsoft I was referring to.

I just don't want 100+ patches (as in Vista) clogging up my system and taking up hard drive space.

If, hypothetically, MS were to fix this and some other explorer stuff, I think it would be a one time service pack type of fix. I agree that it might not be the nicest thing if they fix one little thing here and there all in a bunch of different updates.

The main explorer issues some people are having are all contained within one executable and one to three dll files. So for a one shot update that fixes everything, it wouldn't have to clog up anything.

Patches hardly take up space, or resources for that matter. One of their abilities is to make a system more stable.

Anyhow, this taskbar problem is not some small tweak that some kid came up with, it was an essential part of every Windows until now.

I too used auto-hide until Windows 7, but ironically, now that I really want the taskbar in always-show mode, it's stuck in always-on-top.

That program that was mentioned does not work properly either. Instead of always-on-top, it makes the taskbar always-beneath, which is just as useless (if you drag a window over the taskbar, you can now do it, but clicking the taskbar will not bring it up again, its stuck underneath the windows indefinitely, useless).

Strange, works for me. When I click the taskbar it's brought to front (above other windows). If I remember correcty it sometimes happened that it got "stuck" below when the program first started, but that only was a one time issue which was resolved by clicking back and forth on a window and then the taskbar again.
