Help Classic Menu - Shortcuts attributes - BIG mistake

Hello everybody, I need some help. In the quest for a classic start menu I implemented the hack that appears somwhere here, that replaces the favorites menu with the All users Programs dir.
As I missed some shortcuts that are only on MY user programs dir, I started to synchronize all users menu and my user menu.
As a result now every shortcut shows a security warning when running. It can be avoided changing advances shortcut properties and setting it to run as admin always. But I have a LOT of shortcuts and it would be very tedious to do it one by one.
PLEASE I need help: 1. to restore permisions or whatever to its original state. or to: 2. Batch change all shortcuts to run as admin.
Any other idea would be welcome
    Pleaseeee helppppp

    Hell ElQuia,

Doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you made these changes should be able to undo this for you.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Brink, already did that. Acronis full partition backup/restore. But I have a week or so of incremental backups and this problem is older.
The ideal solution would be some way to batch change all shortcut advanced properties making them run as admin. Or some windows way to reset the start menu folders (all users and mine) to its security/permisions, etc original state...

    Ideas?

    ElQuia,

A repair install may be able to fix this for you.

Brink, will try, AFTER doing a full partition backup . If any thing goes wrong, with image backup I can be up and running in an hour.
Iīll be back and keep you all posted.

Any idea of why the all users shortcuts may be acting like this???? In vista I used to overwrite the Administrator start menu with my user (also admin) start menu, without any problems.
I'm guessing it must be something to do with security or permissions in all users versus an admin user .... but I donīt know what it can be

My guess it would be from the hack that you said you tried. I hope the repair install goes smoothly for you.

    Brink:
Did not work. Did the upgrade, was more than four hours. System started up ok, but once logged in I had a lot of errors and non working soft (eset smart security for one), system errors, etc. Reverted back to my full backup.
What DID work was that the all users start menu did not have the start up security warning for each item when you start it. I copied the menus, whole folders to a temp drive.
If I run them from that temp drive I DONT get the security warning, If I copy the whole "programs" dir to "Start Menu" keeping the attributes I START GETTING THE WARNING AGAIN.
    The warning says:
    Open File - Security Warning
Do you want to open this file?
    Name ....
Publisher: Unknown Publisher (even if it is a MS prog)
    Type: Shortcut
    From ....
    Open - Cancel

When I run a shortcut from start menu on my user everything runs ok
When I run a shortcut from all users start menu on my user I get the warning
When I run a shortcut on other user (I have a guest user thatīs a "Power User) I get the warning

If I go in to the advanced properties of the shortcut and marck "Run as Administrator" the warning does not appear any more.

Other than changing advanced properties one by one I don't know how to solve this.
Does anyone know of a recursive "batch" method for doing this?
Is there any way of solving the problem with out giving admin permissions to each shortcut?

    Please, IDEAS???

    ElQuia,

Other than a clean reinstall to start fresh, I'm not sure what else to do for this.

There HAS to be something to do.

WHY the same folder (all users "Programs" as sub folder of "Start Menu") when stashed on other drive does NOT show the security warning, and when copied (keeping attributes) to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" DOES show the warning?
Itīs taken me a month to get my system personalized as I like it. Before doing a fresh install I prefer changing the "Run as administrator" setting on each shortcut (1.100 shortcuts), but ther HAS to be some solutionnnnnnnnn
If anyone comes out with an idea please advice, If I find it somewhere else I'll post it here.
Thanks anyway Brink, it's real nice of you dedicating time for all of us.

You could create a new user account and just transfer all your files and setting over then delete that one.
