    Windows 7 Gadget Problems

I recently got a 64-bit Windows 7 Gateway laptop, but Windows Desktop Gadgets suddenly stopped working a few days ago. I have tried everything - it's not the UAC. Whenever I try to open the gadgets, it begins to crash and Windows closes the program. System Restore didn't help for some reason, even after I went back father than the day the this problem first occurred (I checked the Event Viewer). I haven't installed any other programs recently either. I even erased the settings.ini file for destop gadgets, and it still didn't work. I have isolated the problem to the weather gadget. Every other gadget works (after erasing settings.ini), but the weather gadget causes it to crash. Any suggestions?

    kjjohn, Welcome to SevenForums
You could try turning gadget platform off then back on. Go to programs and features in the control panel then unselect Windows Gadget Platform then restart. And then select it and restart. Good luck to you with this problem.
