    Hello Bongo,

I believe that it's going to be the same one used for all folders in Windows 7. The tutorial below will help show you how to change the default folder icon.

    Hope this helps,

    Jerry,

29 is for the shortcut overlay icon. It wouldn't work for this. Instead you could add 3, as in OPTION ONE of that tutorial, and use C:\Windows\System32\imageres,-3 to have the default yellow folder icon.

It changed the icon but not to default yellow (screenshot)
    Thanks Jerry

    Ok, Bongo.

Delete the 3 entry in the right pane of regedit, and try the folder download in the link below to restore the default folder associations. Afterwards restart the computer to apply.

    Bongo,

You can try this path instead with the 3 entry: %SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll,3

If that doesn't help, then I have one more item for you to try. See if restoring the default New - Folder item with the download in the tutorial below may be able to fix the icon for you.

New Context Menu - Remove & Restore Default Menu Items

Here's a copy of the default Folder.ico file.
