    menu ribbon

been "playing" with 7 this past week and opened an rtf file with wordpad for the 1st time last night ... and nearly choked!

is this the heralded menu ribbon that comes with ms office? is this ribbon customisable viz. icons or text only? any way to customise my way back to the classic menu ribbon? wordpad settings offer nothing.

    Yup.

No, not in that manner - whoever, you can minimize the ribbon as follows:

1: Click the down arrow on the Customize Quick Access Toolbar (highlighted below)

    menu ribbon-windows-7-wordpard-menu-1.png

Now you'll see a menu as follows:

    menu ribbon-windows-7-wordpard-menu-2.png

Using the one highlighted in red, you can move the Customize Quick Access Toolbar below the ribbon, and using the one highlighted in blue you can minimize the ribbon (which sort of gives you the text only look).

    Nope - not currently anyway.
